XENIA RUBINOS
XENIA RUBINOS
Xenia is a New York based singer-songwriter who has been playing guitar and writing songs since she was 14. She started playing the local coffee house circuit in New Jersey, and then began playing in bars and music venues in New York. She recorded her first CD at age 15. At a gig at the Stone Pony in 2009, she was discovered by the emerging indie label Seraphic Records. She quickly joined the label and put out her first full-length record called "Way Back Home" on June 11, 2011. Not only did Xenia write all of the songs, she coproduced the record, arranged string sections, and played guitar, mandolin, and piano on the album.
As an activist and humanitarian, Xenia has organized two benefit concerts. The first, Songwriters for SICA, benefited a contemporary arts organization deeply affected by the downfall of the economy. The second, Voices for Haiti, was held at the Middletown Arts Center after the earthquake in 2010. Both events, alongside Xenia, featured local songwriters and poets and were extremely successful.
